Kerala Jewish Heritage Tour

When we talk about the Kerala Jewish history and heritage the first thing that comes to our mind is the Mattancherry Paradesi Synagogue. No doubt its one of the best touristic attraction of Kochi and Kerala, those who visit Kochi mostly visit the Synagogue too.

But Kerala Jewish history goes much beyond the Mattancherry Paradesi Synagogue. The Kerala Jewish Heritage tour covers all the available Synagogues and their cemeteries in Mattancherry, Ernakulam, Parur, Mala and Chendamangalam.

Available Synagogues to visit at present.

1. Mattancherry Paradesi Synagogue
    Mattancherry Kadavumbhagam Synagogue
    Jewish Saint Nehemia Mootha's tomb

2. Two Synagogues in Ernakulam
3. Parur Synagogue

4. Chendamangalam Synagogue and Cemetery

5. Mala Synagogue and Cemetery

Depending on the tourist's interest we have other attractions on the way :

⇒ Light House
⇒ Cherai Beach
⇒ Handlooms and textile
⇒ Temple visit
⇒ School Visit
⇒ The famous Biryani Makers of the Area
⇒ The Halwa delights

Lunch at a farmhouse/simple traditional restaurant/three star restaurants

Please note, Chendamangalam and Parur is 60 kilometers away from Ernakulam, we may not be able to do everything in a day, but a possible mix of everything is the best experience for a day tour. For those who want to take their time in experiencing and learning everything we recommend two days. The day one for Fort Kochi, Mattancherry & Ernakulam, the day two for Parur, Chendamangalam and Mala.
